You are not insane. You are reacting to the insanity outside you. There are many who are stressed due to these uncertain times. If you are feeling on the ‘edge’, please seek help. However, please understand that you are not insane, crazy or mentally ill. You are simply stressed out. You are reacting to the insanity around you.

Smile, laugh, and be silly. Don’t take everything too seriously. Life is not a contest. You were born a winner. We can’t stop people from judging us, but we don’t have to be a judge.

A few years ago my daughters invited me to go see a movie with them that I wasn’t sure I wanted to see. But, I went with them and I am so happy that I did because I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was such fun! The name of the movie was Napoleon Dynamite. Now this post or podcast is not about Napoleon Dynamite. I’m not going to talk about the movie. I’m not going to review it. I’m not going to talk about whether you saw it or didn’t see it.
The reason I’m mentioning the movie is because when I woke up this morning and my eyes popped open, I was looking at my ceiling when the thought came to me, “What are you going to do today Wambui?” And I instantly thought “Whatever I feel like I want to do, Gosh!”
And then I started laughing to myself because those are the first lines in the movie Napoleon Dynamite. The movie opens with Napoleon waiting for a school bus. Once he’s on the bus, his young friend turns to him and asks, “What are you going to do today Napoleon? And Napoleon says, “Whatever I feel like I wanna. Gosh!” (more…)

Today is July 4th 2008. Today we celebrate the independence, the freedom and the growth of the United States. I want to remind you not to forget to celebrate your independence, celebrate your freedom, and celebrate your growth.
On purpose, take time to spend time with yourself –to reflect on and about yourself. Don’t let this whole day be about celebrating the independence of the country without also taking time to celebrate the independence and the freedom and the glory of who you are as well.
Celebrate the fact that you are still here because there are so many who did not make it through the year to be here today to celebrate this July 4, 2008.
Celebrate the fact that you were given freedom of choice.
Celebrate the fact that you have freedoms that no man or man-made laws can ever touch or take away from you.
Celebrate the power of your mind.
Celebrate the strength of your God given body and it’s ability to heal itself.
Celebrate your ability to love.
Celebrate your loved ones.
Ladies and gentlemen, this evening, should you happen to be out where they’re doing fireworks and you look up and you see the great display of lights in the sky; I want you to - on purpose - choose one magnificent display of color and lights and claim that as yours. You don’t have to tell anybody around you. You don’t have to make a big deal about this. But deep inside – in your mind - in your soul and in your heart just say to yourself, “That one is for me. That one is for wonderful, fabulous, magnificent me.”

Psychological studies have proved that people will start to behave in accordance to the label(s) we put on them. For instance under achieving children, when told they are smart, start behaving like smart children – and vice versa.
If this is so, then why don’t we all Label Ourselves Genius.

Our lives are a series of miracles. We go from the miracle to miracle to miracle . . . Many of us are not able to see life this way because we’ve been conditioned to focus on the ‘gaps’ in between the miracles. I encourage you to zoom in on the miracles.

Self-love — Having a loving relationship with yourself is extremely important. Unlike relationships with other people, you cannot leave yourself. Where ever you go, you are going with you. Therefore, the relationship you have with yourself must be nurtured. (more…)

Whenever I’m facing challenges or going through some stuff, I have learned to see past the stuff. I have learned NOT to concentrate on the fire I’m walking through, but to focus on the victory on the other side of the fire. Worry and fear shuts down our innate intuition and wisdom. (more…)

Sometimes what we think would be really awful starts to appear really wonderful –when we see it in it’s proper perspective.

This is one of my all time favorite stories. Many times we are so busy trying to win the Rat Race that we don’t realize we have already won. Lisren and think about it. You can read a version of the whole story here.
